Dr. Mikael F. Yohannes

HGV welcomes Mikael Fesseha Yohannes as its first Associate Fellow.

Mikael holds a PhD degree (2016) and an MSc (2013) in Agricultural Economics from Tottori University, Japan, and BSc in Business Management from Ramapo College of New Jersey, USA and New Generation University College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (2007).

His research interest and experience include agricultural and food trade policy analysis, economics of consumer behavior and development economics. He has done extensive work in qualitative and quantitative policy research. He has published his research work in international peer-reviewed academic journals.

Upon his graduation in 2016, Mikael has worked in governmental and non-governmental organizations including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations as an Agribusiness Officer in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Mikael’s other interests include non-profit project development and management, humanitarian initiatives. He is fluent in English, French, Japanese, in addition to his native Amharic.
